Welcome to Mr. Skowronek's Counseling Corner

When To Contact Your Counselor

In addition to weekly classroom lessons, I provide short-term counseling and intervention for various situational concerns.

Parents may want to contact me if their child:

  • Doesn't want to go to school in the morning;

  • Expresses that they don't have any friends;

  • Is coping with family changes (divorce, separation, family stress, etc.);

  • Seems frustrated in school and nothing seems to be helping;

  • Has had a recent loss or illness in the family;

Students can request to see me by letting their teacher know or stopping by my office. Parents can email or call my office and ask that I schedule time with a student. I am available to meet with students when:

  • They are having trouble with a friend;

  • They feel they are being picked on and they aren't sure how to handle it;

  • They want to talk to someone who will listen;

  • They are having trouble with schoolwork;

  • They are coping with stress, loss or adjusting to a life transition.

Mission Statement:

The vision of the Elementary School counseling department is that all students will achieve academic success, social emotional growth, and will attain a fulfilling career in the future that is aligned with their interests and abilities. Students will be prepared to function as empowered members of our community where they show empathy, compassion, and respect for all
