The art room has been buzzing with creativity this spring! We are proud of the amazing work our students are producing.
Our littlest artists in Pre-K have been working on a Vincent van Gogh rendition of his springtime cherry blossoms. Meanwhile, the Kindergarten artists are exploring the color spectrum, learning the order of the rainbow, and soon will be learning how colors mix and work together. The first grade has recently completed modern landscape collages using various types of paper, and bright oil pastels. Our second grade artists have been discovering the bold, bright world of Pop Art this year as seen in the art of Andy Warhol and Wayne Thiebaud and are putting the last touches on their pieces. The third grade is expanding their knowledge of art mediums by exploring the use of watercolor and oil pastels in order to create landscapes inspired by the legendary Bob Ross! Lastly, our fourth graders are painting on canvas in the whimsical and abstract style of Wolf Kahn.
Our big Spring Art Show is right around the corner! We will be celebrating the iconic art of Frida Kahlo. Students across all grade levels have been creating pieces inspired by her self-portraits, and paintings of cute animals and tasty fruits. It is sure to be a crowd pleasing experience.
