Hula Hoops

South End students have been participating in a cooperative learning/games unit.  The focus of each lesson is cooperation, teamwork, sportsmanship, participation, and communication skills.  Students have been working together to find solutions to group/individual challenges. Students recently took part in an activity that involved building and traveling through hula hoop huts. This activity requires students to demonstrate coordination, communication, and cooperation.  In order to construct the hut, the students had to effectively communicate and collaborate, ensuring that each hula hoop was positioned correctly.  This hands-on activity emphasizes teamwork and the importance of communication.   While traveling through the huts, the students needed body control, spatial awareness, and confidence.
