Our third graders launched their final Science unit, Butterflies! This is an exciting unit as students get to observe the process of metamorphosis in their classroom! Each day, the students are excited to come into school to see how their caterpillars have changed! Students have watched the caterpillars grow and form their chrysalis! They anxiously await for the butterflies to emerge! The butterflies will be released so they can spread their wings and fly!
Throughout this unit, students have focused on their life cycle, migration, their diet, and their body parts! They’ve also compared moths to butterflies as they have very similar features, but are not actually the same thing!
